

Peggy began her college education later in life while working full-time and raising her daughters. Through her hard work and determination, she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her professional career in Information Technology spanned 20 years, predominantly with BellSouth Corporation in Birmingham.
After retirement, Peggy enjoyed traveling the world, visiting over a dozen countries, Hawaii, and Alaska. She was an active member of Riverchase United Methodist Church in Hoover and an avid animal lover.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bobby Hayes Harvey and Hubert Fields "Bud" Harvey.
Survivors include Peggy's two daughters, Rhonda Rushing Gibbs (husband, Mike) and Robin R. Rushing, all of Birmingham; one grandchild, Hannah Grace Gibbs of Birmingham; and a sister, Annette Harvey Black (husband, Doug) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Also several beloved nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Riverchase United Methodist Church in Hoover from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., followed by A Service of Remembrance for Peggy at 3 p.m. at the church. Her absolute favorite color is yellow. Her daughters are asking for those able to attend, to wear yellow if you have that in your wardrobe. If not, there will be yellow ribbons available for you to wear.
The gravesite committal service and burial will be Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, Alabama after the church service.
