

Robert L. Clark, 77, of Chelsea, Alabama passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023. He was born in Pasadena, California on March 29, 1946 to James William and Winnie Ruth Mitchell Clark, both of Birmingham, Alabama.
Robert graduated from Glen High School and attended Troy University and Jefferson State Community College in Industrial Design. For over three decades, he built residences and commercial properties in Birmingham, Shelby County, Destin, Florida, and Baldwin County, Alabama, as Mega Builders, Inc., and Silverview, LLC. He was an active member of the Birmingham Builders Association and won numerous Parade of Homes awards throughout the years.
Robert was active in church work, serving as church treasurer, Sunday School teacher, and on various committees. He helped found the Emerald Coast Cathedral in Destin. He was most recently a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Chelsea, Alabama.
He served as treasurer and tour leader for the Daphne Travel Club for four years. He was a certified master scuba diver. Also, he was a past member of Columbiana Kiwanis and was the 2017 president of the Chelsea Chapter of Kiwanis.
Robert is survived by his wife, Janice Creel Clark, to whom he was married on December 22, 1972; four adult children, Jana (Jason) Thornton of Shelby County, Alabama, Megan (Kevin) Rogers of Gulf Shores, Alabama, Dean Clark of Weslaco, Texas, and Robbie Clark of Chelsea. He has two grandchildren, Adelyn and Penny Rogers of Gulf Shores, Alabama. He is survived by sisters, Sandra Perrigan, Ruby Langford, and Elizabeth (Clyde) Weeks of Lamar County, Alabama, and brother, Lester Isbell of Lafe, Arkansas.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Monday, June 26, 2023 at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama. A Service of Remembrance for Robert will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at the funeral home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Burial will be at Liberty-Minter Cemetery in Morris, Alabama.
