Robert Hodges

James "Robert" Hodges, 73, of Trussville, Ala., passed away April 2, 2022 after an extended illness. He was surrounded by his closest family and friends, who loved him deeply. Robert was born June 20, 1948 and graduated from Hueytown High School, 1966. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Jacksonville State University, 1970, followed by National Guard service. He was a State Farm Insurance agent for over 35 years. Never met a stranger, could talk for hours, loved to travel, and had a sharp sense of humor. Most of all, a loving and dedicated son, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee “Lee Lee” Hodges and Virginia Davis Hodges. Survivors: Two daughters, Leigh Dmitriev (Vadim Dmitriev) and Emily Hodges (Zachary Finley), and a grandchild, Sophia “Sophie” Dmitriev.

The family will hold a visitation Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 1-2 p.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home, Pelham, Ala., followed by A Celebration of Life Service at 2 p.m. Burial, Highland Memorial Gardens, Bessemer, Ala.
