

He was married to Mabel Elizabeth French on May 17, 1951.
Robert worked in Sales for Royal Cup Coffee. He was a member of Lions Club and was a very active member in his church. Robert served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was awarded the Korean service medal, National Defense service medal, United Nations Service medal, and the Korean Presidential Unit Citation.
In his leisure, he loved travelling, camping, bowling, serving other people, and Braves baseball. Robert never met a stranger. He was a kind and gentle man, always willing to lend a helping hand.
He was survived by his children, Katherine Esneault (Robert), Sandra Broughton (Richard), Michelle Gauldin (Christopher); grandchildren, Michael Esneault, Heather Dalton (Jonathan), Richard Broughton (Kelly), Jennifer Broughton, William Gauldin, Abbie Lilly (Henry), Harrison Gauldin (Riley);
great-grandchildren, Charles Dalton, Charlotte Dalton, and Benne Broughton.

A visitation for Robert will be held Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home and Cemetery, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124, followed by a funeral service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
