Bob was born and raised in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He was a career United States Postal Employee (39 years). Bob was a Hoover resident since 1983 when his family moved to Birmingham. He was an active member of Christ Church United Methodist, and loved serving others on mission trips and at the Holy Grounds Coffee Bar. Bob was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His true pleasure came from spending time with his family. He was a true “Bob the Builder” and enjoyed nothing more than building and fixing things for himself and his grandchildren.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Vera Yarbro; and son-in-law, Randy Chastain.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Myers Yarbro; son, Brandon Thompson (Katie); daughter, Denise Chastain; brother, Jesse Yarbro (Donna); and grandchildren, Jessica Lucchesi (Mike), Chad Chastain, Brice Thompson, and Cooper Thompson.
Visitation will be from 10-11am Tuesday, June 13 at Christ Church United Methodist with a Celebration of his life beginning at 11.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christ Church United Methodist Church.
