

He was born October 13, 1960 in Decatur, Alabama to Ronald John Froberg and Nelda Mae Callahan. He was lovingly raised in Hartselle by his grandmother Elneise Ryan Callahan and his great aunt Laurice Ryan.
Ron was an aviation enthusiast who loved his work with helicopters which he repaired and flew. He built his own helicopter, taught himself how to fly and won several flying competitions. Ron was a flight instructor for several years at Wallace State Community College. Another passion was motorcycles. He enjoyed touring the roads of Alabama on his various motorcycles, his Harley being his true love. He also loved his Ford Mustang with which he won 1st place in several car shows.
He loved spending time with his Chihuahuas Heidi, and Sadie (whose recent loss was very hard on him).
He is survived by his wife Shirley, his step daughters Angelica Sprunger and Lesley Whitfield and his step grandson Isaac Sprunger.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, September 1, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama. Ron’s ashes will be scattered at a later date in a place that he loved.
