On Wednesday, December 20, 2017, Sandy left this earth to go to heaven and be with Jesus, her loving sister, Martha Kirby; her loving brother, Barry McElroy; and her parents, Juanita and B.R. McElroy. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jim Daugherty; her son, Scott Daugherty; her daughter, Debbie Moxley; and her grandchildren, Alexandra Daugherty, Kendall Daugherty and Jimmy Moxley.
Sandy had a fantastic personality and had hundreds of friends from all the many places we have lived. Sandy loved everyone and everyone loved her. She was born in Gainesville, Florida and her family moved to Daytona Beach. She graduated from Mainland High School in 1961. She will be sorely missed by her many friends and loving family.
The celebration of Sandy’s life will be on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham. Visitation will begin at 5pm with a memorial service at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
