Sara A Lawson

Sara Allen Lawson, 68, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013.The funeral service will be held with visitation from 11:30-1 and the service at 1:00 PM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124; (205) 988-3511.Pastor Ted Blaylock of New Faith Baptist Church, Pleasant Grove, Alabama, will be officiating. Burial will follow the funeral at Southern Heritage cemetery. Sara A. Lawson was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on November 20, 1944. She graduated from Tuscaloosa High School and continued on to The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority and The University of Alabama. Sara retired as an accountant with United Parcel Service.Sara was very active in her church and spent the rest of her time loving her children and enjoying time with her six grandchildren.Sara was married to and is survived by Clarence Allen Lawson on March 23, 1990. They were married 23 years.She is preceeded in death by her father, Edward Forrest Allen, Jr. of Tuscaloosa and her mother, Amy Banks Allen of Tuscaloosa.Sara is survived by a sister, Beth Brown of Tuscaloosa, and a brother, Edward Forrest Allen, III (Karla) of Tuscaloosa, a son, Larry “Chad” Adams, Jr. (Allison), and daughter Sherri Adams Traffica (Glenn) of Birmingham and six grandchildren: Chase Traffica, Hunter Traffica, Brent McCollough, Shelton McCollough, Charli Adams, and Ann Kathryn Adams.Sara was a loving mother and grandmother who put everyone’s needs above her own. Her strong belief in Christ gave her peace as she took on cancer with a positive attitude. Her caring heart and life of sacrifice will continue to be an inspiration to all who knew her.
