Mr. Steve Bloomberg

Mr. Steve Bloomberg, age 62, of Hoover passed away April 6th at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Eugene and Elaine Howell Bloomberg. Steve attended Huntsville High School and the University of Alabama. He went on to finish the Business Master’s Program at Alabama. Steve worked at Bellsouth in Birmingham for 25 years. He retired in 2005. Steve had a passion for all sports. He played both golf and tennis on a regular basis. Steve’s tennis career was one of distinction. He played four years of scholarship tennis at the University of Alabama. Beyond college he continued to excel in tennis winning numerous State Championships. Steve was inducted into the Alabama Tennis Hall of Fame in 2003. Survivors include his wife Becky Riddle Bloomberg, his brother and sister-in-law Coe Arthur and Helga Bloomberg, his two children Chris Bloomberg and wife Leslie and Jennifer Clarke and Husband Dave. Steve was also the proud grandparent of Reece and Riley Bloomberg and Braydon, Laney and Ryan Clarke. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00am at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with visitation Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00pm. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville following the service. Arrangements under the direction of Southern Heritage Funeral Home, Pelham, AL.
