

Susan Mary Manley Hunton, age 74, of Helena, AL passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024. She was born to Salvatore and Joyce Grasso on December, 31, 1949 in Chicago, IL. Sue grew up in Buffalo, NY where she graduated from Frontier High School. Sue went on to have a career in customer service working for Merle Norman and Rite Aid (Walgreens).
On March 31, 1969 Sue married her high school sweetheart on May 31st 1969, Timothy Manley and was married 25 years until his death in 1994. She then met through the widowers group, Peter Hunton and found love again and was married in 2009 until his recent passing in April of this year.
Sue was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Hoover. She had an incredible love for her family and loved spending time with her widowers group. She was a strong, independent, beautiful, bold, funny, kind and charismatic, spirit that will live on in all of us forever. She taught us to live a life loving Jesus and sharing that with others. We can’t forget that she also taught us how to make true Italian spaghetti sauce from scratch and even a few Yankee dishes that were delicious. Sue will be truly missed by all that new her.
She is preceded in death by her parents Salvatore and Joyce Grasso. Sue leaves behind her children Samantha Thomas (Wayne) and Brett Manley (Angela); brother, Daniel Grasso (Shana), the Hunton children, grandchildren, Ty Thomas, Cristian Swift, William Swift (Courtney), Abby, Maddie and Polly Anna Manley; great-grandchildren, Dalila, Saylor and Skylin, and a ray of other family members.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 2061 Patton Chapel Road Hoover, Al 35216
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 29th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with a funeral mass following at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Hoover.
