In 1968, she married the love of her life, Thomas Mitchell (Toby) Potter, beginning a marriage marked by faithfulness, partnership, and deep devotion. Together they built a home filled with love. Suzie’s life was about family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy was her family. She poured herself wholeheartedly into those she loved, serving quietly, praying faithfully, and celebrating every milestone with a grateful heart. Her self-sacrificing love served as a living example of Christ’s love for us. Though she will be deeply missed, her family rejoices in the hope that she is now resting in the presence of her Savior.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Thomas (Toby) Potter III; her three children Michele Davis (Matt), Mitchell Potter (Robyn), and Megan Morgan (Russ); her sister Sharyl Haruguchi; and brother Jon Smith (Joyce). She also leaves behind a legacy of love through her 21 grandchildren Shane Davis (Jessica), Jackson Davis (AnnaRuth), Isabelle Phillips (David), Harrison, Ethan, Benjamin, Zachary, Rose, Micah, Grace & Peyton Davis, Thomson, Carson & Brooks Potter, Brody, Braylen, & Branson Vandewater; Alexandria, Cate, Betsy & Ryan Morgan 3 great-grandchildren Lillian, Suzanne and Bethany Davis and extended family. Suzie was predeceased by her parents Everett and Clara Smith; her brother Bruce Smith and his wife Jeanne and her sister Sharyl's husband Jim Haruguchi.
