Thomas Chase Blackwell, 23, of Chelsea, Alabama passed away at his home on January 28, 2013. He will always be remembered for his courage during difficult times, and is now peacefully at rest. Chase was born on March 11, 1989 in Birmingham, Alabama to Pamela Blackwell Beals and Thelan Blackwell. After graduating from Chelsea High School and attending the University of Alabama, he decided to travel around the world. A philosophical spirit with a beautiful heart, he greatly enjoyed traveling, cooking, blogging and music. The celebration of Chase's life will be at 1 p.m. for immediate family and 2 p.m. for family and friends on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, Alabama 35124. Chase leaves to cherish his memories his step-father, Tom Beals; grandparents, Linda Cordle and Gertrude Blackwell; aunts, Beulah Henslee and Kim Hounshell; nephew and niece, Andrew and Emma Grace Hounshell; uncles, Shane (Misty) Thomas and Joe Beals; step-brother, Ryan (Liz) Beals; and step-sister, Madison Beals.
