Tyler Kell Plemons

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home, Pelham. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Pelham, and burial will follow at Middleton-Cumberland Cemetery in Ohatchee, AL.

Tyler was born in Roanoke, VA on October 28, 1987. The family moved to Orlando, Florida in 1990 before settling in Pelham in 1996 when Tyler was 8 years old. He graduated from Pelham High School in 2006 and attended the University of Alabama. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan and a talented musician.

He is survived by his parents, Edwin F. and Kathy (Elders Angel) Plemons, his brother Phil Plemons and wife Lisa of Oxford, AL, his brother Andy Angel and wife Melissa of Roanoke, Virginia; nieces Amelia and Allie Plemons, Analea and Kylie Angel, and Molly Kinyon; his aunts and uncles Barbara Jones, Betty Foster, Judy Elders, Bobbie and George Schladensky, Bill Plemons, Ralph Elders, Ky Elders; many cousins; Tyler’s special friend Rebecca Leanne Wiggins; and a host of other friends that Tyler also considered his family. Tyler was preceded in death by his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Willard W. Plemons, Mr. and Mrs. Robert N. Elders, Sr., his sister Lisa Plemons Kinyon, his aunt Nancy Plemons, and his uncles Robert N. Elders, Jr., James Foster, and Edward Jones.

Tyler played football for Pelham High School and proudly wore the number 47 for the Panthers. He was also a member of the Pelham High School Jazz Band. As a talented musician/songwriter, he played with several bands including his own, Maybe Later. He played saxophone, piano, and guitar and co-wrote a song, “Pelham Days,” with good friend Bryan Bos for the City of Pelham, which was featured at the Pelhambration city festival last year. He was an active member of the University of Alabama’s Telecommunication and Field Department’s amphitheater crew and helped jump-start an internship program. He was active in the Birmingham SummerFest Program and attended Camp Broadway in New York City.

Tyler founded his own production company, Teeter Productions. He was currently employed by Two Men and A Truck in the Cahaba Heights area. He was a dedicated employee and enjoyed the discovery of new people and places.

Tyler never met a stranger. He always had a huge smile on his face and greeted everyone with a hug. His personality and his passion for life would light up a room. Anyone that had the honor of knowing him will tell you he had a heart of gold. He will forever live in the hearts of his loved ones.
