

Valerie served in the United States Army, where she received several awards. She received the National Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Woman of the Year Award, during her time as Active Duty and several more during her 30 plus Years of Civil Service dedicated work. She recently retired from the VA Medical Center in Birmingham and was looking forward to spending more time with her grandchildren.
Of all her achievements, her greatest reward were her children and grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her mother and father Edward and Barbara Burke, along with her dear husband of 20 + years, Micheal Czerwinski. She is survived by her son Chris McClellan and daughter Nikki Armstrong. Chris is a resident of South Texas and is married. His children are Chris Jr, Westin, Clayton and Tinlee. Nikki and her husband are residents of Birmingham AL, and their children are Charis, Addy Kate, Justin David and Ruthie.
Valerie was a loving mother and Gigi and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
There will be a private service for close friends and family. In leui of flowers, please donate to the Bell Center in Homewood AL, where her new grand baby Ruthie along with thousands of other children receive therapy for Downs Syndrome and Special Needs.
