

She was born on October 29,1931, in Brewton, Alabama, to Oren and Betty Cox.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers; four sisters; her husband of 59 years, William Frank Fenn, Jr. and her husband of twelve years, Charles Harris.
She is survived by her children: Danny (Beth) Fenn of Brent, AL; Debbie Fenn Sullivan (Jim) of Hoover, AL; and Bill Fenn of Columbiana, AL. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Chris (Bridgette) Fenn; of Alexander City, AL; Jason (Nicole) Fenn of Dothan, AL; Alan (Kelly) Sullivan of Vestavia, AL; Patrick (Amy) Sullivan of Wabash, IN; Taylor Sullivan Lewis (Patrick) of Hoover, AL; Tricia Fenn Bethany (Bill) of Madison, MS; Dianne Fenn of Chelsea, AL; Frank Fenn III of Nashville, TN; Richard Bean (Glenda) of Montgomery, AL; and Rachel Bean Dinehart of Whitewater, WI; along with 26 great- grandchildren who were a continual source of joy in her life.
Virginia dedicated her life to education and service. She served as a teacher and principal at Prichard Christian Grade School and taught elementary school at Briarwood Christian in Birmingham. She later became a top representative for Zaner Bloser Publisher’s Handwriting program, where her excellence and professionalism were widely respected.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was an active and devoted member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church, where she faithfully participated in Sunday School, the Ladies’ group and the Missionary Support team. She lived out her faith with humility, generosity, and a servant’s heart, leaving a lasting example to all who knew her.
Virginia found great joy in opening her home to others. She loved hosting family gatherings, especially during the holidays, creating a warm and welcoming place filled with love, laughter, and tradition. Above all, she cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons. A private graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 26, with Pastor Johnathan Payne officiating. Visitation for family and friends will follow from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL.
Memorial donations may be made to Gideon’s International or to Hand in Hand Ministry at Shades Mountain Baptist Church in Birmingham.
