Virginia Wright Karl

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Richardson Wright and Virginia Mae Emerson. She is also preceded in death by her spouse of 51 years, Dr. Edward Allison Karl (Bill).

Mrs. Karl is survived by one son, Dr. Edward Matthew Karl (Crissy) and one daughter, Nancy Karl Cobbs (John). She has six grandchildren, Rhys, Ryan, Allison, Nick, Shelby and Daylon. She also has six great-grandchildren, Aiden, Asher, Gray, Holden, Hunter, and Ryan.

Mrs. Karl was an active member of Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church, and worked in the Weekday Enrichment Program there for years. She was a member of Camelot Club and loved to knit and teach others to knit. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be missed dearly.

The graveside service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, Alabama. Also on Saturday, June 3, 2017, visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Memorial Chapel at Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church, immediately followed by the Celebration of Virginia Karl's Life at 12:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church.
