

Mr. Walker attended Woodlawn High School and Jeff State College. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp in World War II and the Korean War. He was a police officer with the City of Birmingham for 30 years and Director of Security for Shelby Baptist Health Systems for 11 years.
Mr. Walker was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, The Masonic Lodge of Chelsea, and The Marine Corp League, Howlin Mad Smith Detachment.
He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Margaret Jones Walker; two granddaughters, Shannon Walker Davenport (Brent) and Stephanie Walker Martin; and great-granddaughter, Anna Elizabeth Davenport. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven A. Walker, and parents, Ella Dean Fuqua and William Paul Walker.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Union United Methodist Church in Westover, Alabama from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m., followed by A Service of Remembrance for Mr. Walker at 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Union United Methodist Church Cemetery, Westover.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Marine Corp League.
