Wanda Locke Johnson

Wanda was a graduate of Minor High School in Birmingham and went to work for U.S. Steel, where she met the love of her life, William B. Johnson. Later, she retired after several years in clerical work with EBSCO Industries. She was a member of the Riverchase Church of Christ.

Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her husband, William B. Johnson; daughter, Christy Johnson Ellis; parents, Frank and Gladys Locke; and sisters, Francis Rockwell and Sue Reach. She is survived by sons, Mike Johnson (Jan) and Rod Johnson (Becky); sisters, Sandra Davis and Glenda Franklin (Joe); grandchildren, Lindsay Whicher (Dom), Kendall Richardson (Jeremy), Jason Ellis (Sarah), Cory Ellis (Katie), Zack Ellis, Josh Ellis, and Morgan Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Jack Whicher, Brooks Richardson, Myers Richardson, Charles Richardson, and Emily Ellis.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama, from 12 noon to 1 p.m., followed by A Service of Thanks to God for Wanda at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Burial, Highland Memorial Gardens, Bessemer, Alabama.
