William V. "Slim" Bishop

William V "Slim" Bishop, age 92, passed away on December 6, 2020. Formally of Indian Springs and now residing in Gallant, Alabama, Mr. Bishop worked with Alabama Power for 41 years. After retirement, he loved playing Blue Grass music, working with his sawmill and working on his property in his spare time. Mr. Bishop is preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Juanita V Bishop; daughter, Danita Gayle Bishop Brooks; Granddaughter, Autumn Brook Brasher; parents, Rev. C.E. Bishop and Ida Bishop; sisters, Sarah Elizabeth Street; brothers, C.E. Bishop Jr., Stanley Mitchell "Dude" Bishop and Hugh Allen "Spike" Bishop. He leaves behind to cherish his memory three daughters, Sarah Diane Bishop Green (Terry), Deborah Bishop Holcomb (Danny) and Donna Bishop Smith (Kenneth); Granddaughter, April Joyce (Brian); Great-Grandchildren, Ivy Cooper and Patrick Joyce; Great Great-Grandchildren, Evan, and Everett Cooper; brothers, David Wayne "Spud" Bishop (Margaret) and Daniel Gary Bishop (Jean). The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 9, from the hours of 11:00 until 1:00. A Celebration of Mr. Bishop's life will begin at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Southern Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Southern Heritage Cemetery.
