Wyatt Macon Greene, 17, of Chelsea, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, after a courageous nearly 15-year battle with a brain tumor. Though his time on earth was far too short, Wyatt’s life was rich with meaning, joy, and love. He was an inspiration to all who knew him, and through his perseverance, his kindness, and his creativity he taught others how to face hardship with courage and to dream boldly despite it.
Wyatt was born on August 28, 2008, to Jud and Jessica Greene, and from the very beginning he brought light into their world. He loved music, dancing, running, and never met a stranger.
At just two years old, Wyatt was diagnosed with a Pilomyxoid Astrocytoma brain tumor. From then on, his life became intertwined with treatments, surgeries, and countless challenges. What defined Wyatt was not his illness but his resilience, his ability to see beauty in life, and the way he inspired others with his strength.
When his tumor hemorrhaged at age five, Wyatt had to relearn to walk, talk, and eat. Occupational therapy introduced him to stringing beads, which became a lifelong passion. What began as simple therapy grew into a remarkable talent. As he grew older, Wyatt transformed his love for creating into his business, Wyatt Beadsmith Co., proudly sharing his unique jewelry with the world. His joy was not only in making art but also in connecting with people. He loved handing out business cards, sharing stories, and dreaming big dreams of spreading beauty everywhere.
Wyatt was endlessly imaginative, loving, and kind. He adored his family and never missed an opportunity to remind them how amazing they were. He loved holding babies, building LEGO sets, asking “would you rather” questions, listening to music, and finding joy in candy stores, birds (not squirrels), and art of all kinds. He was incredibly proud of reaching level 8,656 in Candy Crush Saga. He laughed easily, dreamed boldly, and inspired everyone with his ability to delight in the world even when life was difficult. He had a way of making people feel seen, loved, and valued, a rare and beautiful gift that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
To his family and friends, Wyatt was more than a son, a brother, and a grandson — he was a teacher, a light, and a reminder of how precious life truly is. His courage and creativity continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
Wyatt is survived by his parents, Jud and Jessica Greene; his sister, Macy Greene; his grandparents, Gerald and Robbie Greene; his great-grandmother, Shirley Gates; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Peter and Patty Hepp, and his great-grandparents, Richard and Jo Fish, Preacher and Audrey Greene, and Charlie Gates.
Wyatt’s family would like to thank all of those who supported him throughout his journey, from loving friends and family to dedicated healthcare professionals, constant well-wishers, and endless prayer warriors. So many of you impacted Wyatt’s life, and he would never have become the young man he was without your influence.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama from 2-3 p.m., followed by A Service of Celebration for Wyatt's Life at 3 p.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage. The family will also receive friends after the service.
