

Born on March 14, 1938, in Talladega, Alabama, Blanche lived a full and vibrant life marked by love for her family and a zest for living.
Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, Curry and Lou Gravette; step mother, Carrie Lou Gravette; first husband and father of their four children, Melvin Jones; husband, Robert Hugh Sherrill; best friend and beloved companion, John Calvin Sprayberry Sr.
Blanche was the beloved daughter of Curry and Lou Gravette, who preceded her in death. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Linda Mitchell (the late David), Carolyn Jones-Oi (the late Scooter), Samuel Jones (LuAnn), and Jennifer J. Davis (Donald). Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren - Mandy (Scott), Brad, Pink (Anthony), Corey (Ashley), Stephanie (Mark), Tyler, Troy, Ethan, Dallas, Camille, and Carrie. Blanche had 8 great-grandchildren - Kayla, Nolan, Gavin, Devin, Michael, Mercedes, Xavier and Kade. Blanche also is survived by one brother, Richard Lynn Gravette (Lenora).
Blanche's life was filled with joy and activity. She had a passion for golf and could often be found on the green enjoying the game. Her love of travel took her to many places over the years, always eager to explore new destinations. A graceful ballroom dancer and an enthusiastic bowler, she brought energy and elegance to every endeavor. Family gatherings were especially dear to her heart- occasions where laughter flowed freely and memories were made.
Known for being smart, kind, and funny, Blanche held a special place in the hearts of those who knew her. She proudly embraced the title of #1 GMO " to her grandchildren- a testament to the deep bond she shared with each of them.
A visitation for Blanche will be held Friday, September 5, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Kilgroe Funeral Home, 2219 2nd Ave North, Pell City, AL 35125, followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM.
Flowers are welcomed or a donation may be made to the St. Clair County Humane Society.
