

Carl “Sandy” Smith, age 84, of Foley, Alabama, passed away on February 19, 2025. Born in Rockford, Alabama, on August 17, 1942, Sandy lived for over 40 years at his beloved lake house on Logan Martin. Later he moved to Foley, where he created lasting memories with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Linnie Sue Smith, his two daughters, Robin and Traci, stepchildren Harry “Geno” and Andrea “Loy,” multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sandy’s legacy will also be cherished by his many friends who will remember him fondly for his kind heart and strong work ethic. He worked with pride at Monsanto for many years however, everyone who knew him knew that his retirement years were where Sandy flourished.
Sandy was a lover of life. He found joy in the simple things, whether it was a round of golf with friends, the thrill and enjoyment of a motorcycle ride, or the serenity of a day spent by the water with his cherished pets.
A funeral service will take place on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Kilgroe Memorial Funeral Home in Pell City, AL, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM.
Sandy’s family and friends will forever treasure the memories of his laughter, kindness, and support. His legacy is not just in the years he worked or the hobbies he enjoyed, but in the love he gave and the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the stories shared, the smiles he inspired, and the love that remains in the hearts of those who knew him best.
