Visitation will be held Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm with funeral service to follow in the chapel of Kilgroe Funeral Home.
Mrs. Akers is survived by her daughters, Martha Suzanne Akers Morris VanDall and Norma Joyce Akers Hamilton; grandchildren, Amy Lucretia Hamilton White (Harold), John Emmitt Hamilton (Jennifer), Matthew Scott Hamilton (Angelica), Jessica Kaley Morris Hill (Adam), Catrina Aline Morris; great-grandchildren, Tyler White, Jared White, Julia Hamilton, Jonah Hamilton, Jasper Hamilton, Colbie Lynn Hill, McKenzie Grace Hill, Tyler Jackson Hill, Hailey Jane Hill and Joe Owens, Sr (Stephanie); and great-great grandchildren: Charlotte Owens and Joe Owens, Jr; and numerous nieces and nephews whom also she loved very much.
Mrs. Akers is preceded in death by her husband of almost 65 years, Emmitt E. Akers.
