
Charlie E. Spacek, 59 passed away unexpectedly on July 30th, 2015. Charlie grew up in Penn Yan and is a graduate of Penn Yan Academy. We all know “that man” that made us smile every time we saw him and the man that would drop everything to help anyone, that man was Charlie Spacek. Charlie was a loving man, his family was the center of his world, and everything he lived for. He was always up early working hard every day of his life, proudly. He was not only a pillar within his family, but also a pillar in his community, Penn Yan, NY. Charlie was a conservationist and a nature loving man. He was almost always guaranteed to either be in the woods, or on the water. Charlie Spacek was an Official Measurer of the New York State Big Buck Club and the Northeast Big Buck Club. As a Whitetail Specialist and Researcher, Charlie, was a yearly speaker for WFLR Radio on the Topic of Whitetail Deer. He was also a dedicated member to the Yates County Sportsman’s Association and previously a long standing member of the Lyons Club. By the Penn Yan Rotary Club, amongst many other organizations, Charlie was highly recognized and awarded by his community for the artistic work that he did to make Penn Yan a more beautiful place. We all know that Charlie truly loved his work. Charlie Spacek will be missed by us all. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Barbara May Spacek, his son Timothy C. Spacek, daughter-in-law Jodi L. Spacek, and his granddaughter (“Peanut”), Halley May Spacek. He is also survived by his in laws Oakleigh and Pauline Millerd, Charlie Millerd (Lynda), Diane Chapman, Linda Hibbard (Danny), Donna Laquitara (Angelo), his loving nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends. Charlie is predeceased by his father Jack Spacek, mother Erna Spacek, brother Billy Spacek and his best buddy and four legged friend, Caspian. At his request there will be no formal services.
