Elizabeth Hammond

Elizabeth was born in Bluff Point, NY on November 16, 1917, the daughter of the late Walter and Gladys (Potter) Walrath. Liz retired from Barden & Robeson Company in Penn Yan, NY. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church, also involved the Grange and was active in Square Dancing. She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis Albert Hammond on July 9th, 2001.

Survived by her children, Anne (Carl) Eckert of Hammondsport and James (Nancy) Hammond of Carthage, TN; grandchildren, Melissa, Ellen, Sandra, Craig; and several great and great-great grandchildren; sister, Joyce Arlene Burk of Waterloo, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call from 7pm to 9pm on Wednesday, October 26th, 2011 at the Faith Baptist Church where her funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, October 27th. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Penn Yan.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Elizabeth’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Rd. N., Rochester, NY 14609.
