Estella E. Wood

Estella E. Wood, age 73, of Branchport, New York passed away on Friday June 15, 2018 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital. Estella was born in Corning, NY on November 19, 1944 to Lena VanDusen and James Simpson.

Estella worked for 17 years for Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 2008. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, and loved the NY METS and playing a good practical joke. Estella was a very loving and family oriented mother and grandmother.

Estella is survived by; son Steven (Rhonda) Wood; daughter, Joanna (Mike) Wood; son, Robert Wood; and daughter, Michelle Wood; grandchildren, Nicole, Ashley, Amber, and Kyle; great-grandchildren, Brian and Damien; sister Martha Clark, sister Sharon Henshaw and brother Bert Simpson; also surviving are many half-siblings and nieces and nephews.

Estella was predeceased by her husband, Robert C. Wood; mother, Nellie May VanDusen and father, James Simpson and grandson, Dylan Wood.

A graveside service for Estella will be held Friday, June 22, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Lakeview Cemetery, Penn Yan, New York.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Estella's memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington D.C. 20090-6011 US.
