

Bob was born in Syracuse, NY on May 3rd, 1931, the son of the late Kathryn Kingston and James Evans. He graduate from Penn Yan Academy in 1946 and earned his BS from Cornell University and his MS from Syracuse University. He served as a 1st LT. in the US Army during the Korean War. Bob worked in research and development in major food industries from California to Boston. He even developed 6 Patents. He landscaped in Allentown, PA and in the Yates County area and was a vendor for 20 years at the Windmill. He retired to Branchport and was a member of the St. Luke's Episcopal Church, where he held many lay positions. He founded and chaired "Lest We Forget" Veterans Memorial in Branchport for which he was granted the DRA National Award. Bob was the Jerusalem Town Historian, a member of the Bitley Cemetery Board, and the Chairman of the Jerusalem Planning Board. Bob had authored several publications and had begun a book to tell the story of our local Yates County Veterans. Bob was well known everywhere as an avid Red Sox Fan.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Gibson Miner Evans, his children, Ryan (Stacy) Evans of Salt Lake City, Daniel (Jill) of Boston, Christina Hale (Norberto) of California, and Merdith Evans of California; his grandchildren, Boko, Finn, Brody, and Luke Evans, Tasba and Orquidea Hale; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, David Evans.
