Robert Clark Wood Jr.

Robert was born in Penn Yan, NY on January 16th 1946, the son of the late, Robert C. and Anna (Rumsey) Wood Sr. He served in the US Army during Vietnam earning a Vietnam Service Medal and a Civic Action Medal among others. He also served in the US Army Reserve at the Penn Yan Army Reserve Center earning his 20 year retirement. Robert also retired from the Penn Yan Dept. of Public Works. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid NY Mets and Buffalo Bills fan.

Robert is survived by his wife of 52 years, Estella (Simpson) Wood; children, Steven (Rhonda), Joanna (Mike), Robert, and Michelle Wood; grandchildren, Nicole, Ashley, Amber, and Kyle; great grandchildren, Brian and Damien; siblings, Jesse Wood, Hazel Pym, Theresa Keagle, Donna Torres and Wilma Robinson; as well as, several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson, Dylan Wood and his brothers, Louie, Nolan, Raymond and Johnny Wood.

Friends and family may call from 2 pm to 4pm on Thursday, December, 22nd at the Townsend Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, NY 14527. His funeral service will follow with Military Honors at the funeral home at 4 pm. Robert will be interred at Lakeview Cemetery in Penn Yan.
