Teresa E. Lord

Teresa E. Lord, 85, passed away at her home in Ocala, Florida on October 20, 2012.

Family and friends are invited to attend Teresa’s memorial service at St. Michael’s Church in Penn Yan, NY on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 1:00pm. Inurnment will follow the service at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made in her name to the Kitty Wigsten Scholarship Fund at Soldier’s &Sailors Memorial Hospital.

Teresa was born July 16, 1927 in Hamilton, Ontario Canada to the late Thomas & Ethel Preston Dawson.

She retired from K & L Cleaners where she was employed as a seamstress/tailor. She was a member of St. Michael's Church in Penn Yan. Terry was active in the American Legion Auxiliary and served as Past-President of Unit #355, Yates County and 7th District of New York. Also she held the post of 4th District President in Florida. She was a member of OES Chapter of Seneca Lake, was Matron of Amity Chapter of Penn Yan and Past Grand Representative to New Hampshire. She attended St. Jude's Catholic in Marion Oaks Florida.

She is survived by her husband Richard; sons: Mark E. (Jan) Lord of Dundee, NY, Michael G. Lord of Swain NY, Jeffrey R. (Theresa) Lord of Erie, PA; daughter: Joy M. (Steven) Pulver of Danielsville, GA; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters: Veronica Ashford of Hamilton, Ontario and Maureen Cormier of Peterborough, Ontario; brother: Brian T. (Marie) Dawson of Hamilton, Ontario; many nieces & nephews.
