Terrall "Terry" B. Newby, age 71, of Penn Yan, NY passed away on Thursday August 30, 2018. Terry was born June 11, 1947 in Penn Yan, NY to late Margaret A. Mahar and Robert V. Newby. He worked as a painter for Coach and Equipment in Penn Yan for 38 1/2 years and then 2 1/2 years on their finishing line prior to retiring. He enjoyed riding his scooter to Morgan's Grocery for a bite to eat and conversation with his friends about the subjects of the day. He also enjoyed his trips to Seneca Farms and Disney. He was an avid NY Yankees and enjoyed his trips to the ball games.
Terry is survived by nephew, Kyle (Katherine) Newby, Patrick Newby, Alex Newby and great niece Molly Newby; several cousins and many great friends. In addition to his parents, Terry was predeceased by his brother Philip J. Newby in February 2018.
Friends and family may call on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Townsend Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 East Elm Street, Penn Yan, NY 14527. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with burial immediately following at St. Michael's Cemetery, Penn Yan, NY. Those that will be in attendance may wear a NY Yankees shirt in honor of Terry.
