Annie was born on January 13, 1926 in Tampa, Florida. She was the daughter of Austin Lee Weeks and Mattie Estelle Keagan and sister to John Lee Weeks, Lucille Weeks, and Cecil S. Weeks. She was married to Rufus Earl Porter for 50 years and had 9 children, numerous foster children, 22 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren. She loved children and offered a loving home to her own, to foster children, and to neighborhood children. She was an excellent cook -- legendary for her biscuits and carrot cake. The best chefs couldn’t plate food as appetizingly as she could. She was a member of East Brent Baptist Church for many years – often hauling two or three station wagons full of children to church each Sunday and Wednesday. Later, she transferred her membership to Pine Forest Assembly of God.
