My condolences to all for your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

My, father was the old school man among men, my hero. He taught me about love, hard work, discipline, honesty, integrity,and commitment in his actions not his words. He would help with anything you ask, and  if he said he was going to be there you could count on it. Dad was light hearted a jokester and never spoke bad of anyone. When growing up he was strict but fair and let us find our own way. Had I listened to him I would be a much better person than I am today. He fought the cancer till he decided he had enough and then just as he is he said " I want to be with Pinky. " He shut it down and left on his terms from his house. A man with an iron clad will, that decided to do it his way regardless of the pain and suffering he had to endure,and even then never complained.He didnt want to burden anyone, and so he took himself to be with God and the rest of  his family and friends on the other side.You will be missed so very much! Love you Dad give Mom a hug and tell her I love her too!

Our condolences to the family. Melvin and his family were neighbors or ours for years and such a big part of my life after the loss of my husband. He will be missed.

Dear Wartenbe Family and Friends,
Today is Nov 20, 2010, and I just found out this morning about Melvin's call to Heaven by the Supreme Commander. Having shared some of our teen years together with an interest in Model planes and Fishing, we became good friends. Then one day I was called by Bill McLellan who wanted me to join the Marine Corps with him. I said I would call him back after I made a phone call. I called Melvin and asked if he would like to accompany Bill and I and join the Marine Corps. His answer was "Yes" and the three of us arrived at the Marine Corps Boot Camp, Parris Island, S.C, in September 1953 and was assigned to Platoon 337. After completing Boot camp we were assigned different duty stations, but we never lost the friendship and camaraderie that we shared. I'm so sorry that I missed the Visitation and Funeral Services but I will visit his resting place at Barrancas National Cemetary and pay my Final respects. Our Loss is Heaven's Gain. God Bless All.

Here I am in South Korea where Grandpa helped maintaim peace on the peninsula...I am heart broken for sure but proud to be picking up where he left off here almost 60 years ago.  I remeber all the stories he told me about Korea and hope to have my own when I get home! I remeber going fishing with him and helping him fix washing machines...the best days of my life up until meeting Katie..and then having the joy of watching him play the piano and sing with my lovely wife :)  Love you Grandpa..life won't be the same now that I am finally coming back home :(  This is my salute to you..I hope you have found Grandma up there!  Give her a big hug for me and Katie!  Eternally your little Scrappy!

Melvin was a classmate (PHS '52), a really nice young man. My condolences to his family and may his memory be eternal.

I have missed seeing him...he will be deeply missed by all the staff (nurses) at   Woodlands Medical Specialist.   We will remember him forever.   His jokes and visit always made our day.   Thank you for giving us nurses the opportunity to be part of his life.  May God provide all the family the strength to cope during your time of sorrow,
