Bartholomew Scollo, 78, of Pensacola died Monday, March 12, 2012.
Mr. Scollo was born July 13, 1933 in Hartford, Connecticut to Joseph A. Scollo and Rose Testa Scollo. He joined the U. S. Marine Corps, serving three years before joining the U. S. Air Force for 18 years, retiring in 1972. While in the service he served one tour of duty in Korea and 3 tours in Vietnam. After retiring from the Air Force, Mr. Scollo went to work at the U. S. Postal Service from which he retired in 1988. He was a member of the VFW, the Loyal Order of the Moose, the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks and the Sons of Italy.
In 1999, Mr. Scollo was preceded in death by his former wife, Sherry Scollo.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Scollo; sons, Joseph A. Scollo of Southington, CT and Wayne Chatham of Pensacola; daughters, Alecia Chatham of Pensacola, Roberta Scollo of Manchester, CT and Darlene Scollo of Colchester, CT; brothers, Joseph D. Scollo of Southington, CT and Carl Scollo of Manchester, CT; sisters, Mary O’Connell of Pensacola and Sarah Duffy of Pensacola; and eleven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Barrancas National Cemetery with full military honors.
