Bernice was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada
to Henri and Laura Leblanc.
She was youngest of four siblings which included her brother Fernando (Do) and sisters Loraine and Dorcas.
As a young woman she worked at Eaton's department store in Moncton. She occasionally ventured out for a night on the town where she met a young U.S. sailor named Jerry Cain. They dated and eventually got married in 1956. They had three sons named Micheal, Jeffery and Karl.
Bernice attended Catholic Mass at the Corry Station chapel.
Bernice worked in the fabric department at TG&Y before working for Favorite Nanny, a babysitting service where she made many friends. One of her clients were Ken and Rose Stabler, but her favorites were the Byfields.
Bernice loved sewing, knitting, macrame', jigsaw puzzles and cross-stitch. She loved animals and made sure we put peanuts and bird seed and changed the food in the hummingbird feeder. She always enjoyed the company of friends which made her the happiest.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, her parents and siblings. She is survived by her children Micheal (Zoraida) Jeffery and Karl, several nieces and nephews Terry Leblanc, Donna Leblanc of Massachusetts, Donald Leblanc, Velman Leblanc and Giselle Leblanc of Canada, Melissa McKnight of Florida, her brother-in-law Perry Cain of Florida and her sister-in-law Rita Leblanc of Canada. Her grandchildren James Cain, Farrah Wilson and Micheal Cain Jr. and great grandchildren Aiden Cain, Titan Cain, Kayla Germany, Christabelina Wilson and Ethan Wilson.
Services will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery on January 30th at 2:30 pm. The funeral procession will start at Oaklawn Funeral Home at 2:00 pm.
