

Nola Elizabeth (Betty) Majors Garrett went to be with the Lord on August 4, 2021. She was born on March 1, 1927 in Pensacola, Florida. She was the daughter of F.R. Majors and Leona Baker Major. She was married to Belmont Garrett. She was employed as a bookkeeper at Pleez-ing and later as a bookkeeper for Anderson Memorial Hospital in Anderson, South Carolina. She was a member of The Open Bible church in Pensacola, and after returning to Pensacola later in life was a member of Calvary Way Full Gospel church where she was an active participant of the Calvary Way Quilters.
She is survived by her son-in-law, Marion Merritt, two grandsons, Tim Merritt and Mark Merritt and wife Rhonda, and two granddaughters, Jennifer Merritt and Gillian Merritt. She is also survived by two sisters, Myra Jayne Majors Thummel and Nancy Majors Turner. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Belmont Garrett, her daughter Linda Merritt and daughter-in-law Shirley Merritt.
Funeral services will be held at Bayview Memorial Park on Scenic Highway on Thursday, August 12. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 AM with the service at 11:30 AM. There will be no graveside service.
Officiating will be Reverend Mitch Turner and Reverend Malcolm Thomas.
Honorary Pallbearers are Marion Merritt, Tim Merritt, Mark Merritt, Mitch Turner, Brandon Metz, Caleb Metz and Michelle Smith.
