Meme, as she was known by her children and grandchildren, was born in Greenville, Alabama on October 14, 1932. In May 1951, she married her high school sweetheart, James Edward Hamilton, with whom she raised two daughters, Kerra and Lori. Meme will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to family, inner strength, and remarkable domestic engineering.
Mrs. Hamilton is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Edward Hamilton, and is survived by two daughters, Kerra Hamilton and Lori (Andrew) Klumpp, as well as three grandchildren, Laura (Jacob) Jackson, Leslie Cowan, and Joseph Klumpp.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 16, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 3:00 pm at the funeral home with burial to follow at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made in her name to the American Red Cross.
