Betty Jean Vassell

Born August 30, 1959. Departed this life on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at home.

She was born in New Orleans, LA to the union of Rev. Thomas James (Mary Lee Brown) and moved to Mobile, AL at an early age. She was a 1978 graduate of Williamson High School. She also attended Bishop State Community College. She worked at several nursing homes as an Activity Coordinator and a Certified Nurse Assistant. She also had her cosmetology license. She was an exceptionally talented person; loved fishing, dancing, and cooking. She was an active member of the Florida Eastern Stars until her sickness. She felt she could do anything.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Rev. Thomas James and Mary Brown, her sibling, Peter Brown, and her son Albert Brown.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted husband: Christopher Vassell, sons: Michael Brown (Shantel), Tyrone Brown, and Paul Brown, sister: Rosemary Stean, brothers: Minister Eddie Brown, (Alfreda), Apostle John Brown (Prophetess Tonda), Nathaniel Brown, Willie Brown, and Thomas Brown Jr., (7) grandkids, (20) great grandkids, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her brothers in-love: Claude Vassell, Michel Vassell, Fabian Vassell, Courtney Vassell, sisters in-love: Debbie Vassell and Sandra Vassell, mother in love: Dorrell Vassell, one devoted friend: Evg. Rena Pitts Belin and a devoted Goddaughter: Mirakle T. Pitts.
