
Beverly P. Tate, a long-time Pensacola, Fla., resident, passed away in the early morning hours of April 7, 2013. Beverly was born on Sept. 11, 1929, in St. Paul, Minn. Beverly attended Hamline University where she majored in social work. She moved to Pensacola in 1953 with her husband, Vernon, where they started a family. She spent many years helping others and found it especially rewarding when she placed babies with adoptive families. Beverly enjoyed the hobbies of flower arranging, oil painting, and sewing. Beverly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Beverly was preceded in death by her loving husband, Vernon Tate. She is survived by her sister, Yvonne Muehring of Minneapolis, Minn.; her children, Janice (Jeff) Hoff, Rodger (Marnie) Tate, and Patty (Robert) Sheldon; her grandchildren, Jason Tate, Justin Tate, Jennifer Tate, Katie Sheldon Saunders, and Patrick Sheldon; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a private interment at Bayview Memorial Park at a later date. The family wishes to express their thanks to all the staff at the Azalea Trace Assisted Living Facility and Skilled Nursing Center for all their help in caring for Beverly. Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
