Bruce Cuyler Jones Jr.

Bruce C. Jones, Jr., 74, of Pensacola, FL, died on Monday, January 26, 2015.Bruce was born in Tuscaloosa, AL on March 09, 1940 and graduated from Pensacola High School in 1958. He attended Graceland College in Iowa, Pensacola Junior College and Florida State University where he majored in business finance. He served in the U.S. Army from 1963-65 in Germany.In the 1970s he worked with the family business, Standard Trailer Sales, and fished commercially for red snapper. In the 1980s he established and operated Pensacola Dive Shop on Barrancas Avenue. As one of the early SCUBA divers in Pensacola, he had a wealth of information to share with his dive shop customers.Bruce was a long-time member of Escambia River Muzzle Loading Shooting Club and, in his retirement years, enjoyed deer hunting at T&T Club in Florida.Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Margaret Jones, and his brother, Myron Jones.Bruce is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Chris of Independence, MO; sister, Margaret Ann Gilmore of Pensacola. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, John Gilmore; sister-in-law, Fran Jones; nephews, William Jones, Bruce Gilmore, Brian Jones and Blake Gilmore.Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 30, 2015 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel.In lieu of flowers, in celebration of Bruce's life please pay it forward to "people" or an organization of your choice.
