He was born to Kemp and Martha Plowman in 1938. Carl enlisted in the Navy in 1956 to become a Dental Technician and retired as a Chief Petty Officer in 1975. His duty assignments included Marine Corps Base Camp LeJeune; USS North Hampton (CLC-1); U.S. Naval Dental Clinic Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; NAAS Saufley Field Pensacola, Florida; U.S. Naval Support Activity, Canal Zone; and NGDS Bethesda, Maryland. After the Navy Carl worked several government Civil Service jobs around Pensacola NAS and fully retired in 2018.
Carl was an extraordinary husband, father, and friend to all. He was the ultimate caregiver to people and animals alike. He would spend his day caring for his neighborhood cats, the ducks at the lake, and watching game shows with his Yorkie, Bella. He loved music (especially classic country music) and anything to do with gadgets and technology. He was the absolute best Dad and would do anything for his family and friends. He will be forever missed.
Carl is survived by his wife Carlene Plowman; brother James; children: Carl Jr. (Sonny), David, his wife Donna and his son Michael; Kimberly, her husband William and their two children – Will and Ava; and his son Jeffrey, his wife Kelly and their three children – Eli, Lucas, and Colin.
