Carol J Gibney

1924—2011

Carol Jane Gibney, 87, of Pensacola, passed away Monday, May 30, 2011 at her residence. Carol was born March 15, 1924 in New Philadelphia, Ohio, the daughter of John Homer and Inez May (Stiers) Rausch. She was married in 1946 to Richard J. Gibney.

Carol saw the world as an Air Force wife. Moving to Pensacola in 1972 where they built a life together and called it home. She enjoyed golf and playing bridge with her special buddies. Her beautiful smile and wonderful personality brightened everyone’s life and brought a lot of joy to everyone around her. This precious lady will be missed!

She is survived by her loving daughter Susan J. Gibney of Pensacola. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her son, Jack Gibney

Grave side service will be 11 am Monday, June 6, 2011 at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola. Oak Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Carol Gibney Memorial at Sacred Heart Hospital Foundation 5151 North 9th Avenue suite 260, Pensacola, FL 32513.
