

Cecil Bell went home to be with God on January 12, 2024. He was born August 25, 1930, in Pensacola, Florida. The third of five children of the late Samuel James and Edna Bell. He is predeceased by his brother SJ Bell, Ronald Bell and sister Susie Bell DuPlantis.
Cecil attended Catholic schools graduating from Pensacola Catholic High School in June of 1948. Cecil joined Spearman Brewing Company at that time and left to join the US Air Force in 1951. He was medically discharged three months later with a hearing disability. He was an Accountant by trade, working in Accounting at St Regis and Stone Container for over 38 years. He retired in 1992. He returned to Pensacola and was a member of St Mary’s Catholic Church, Pensacola. Cecil was an avid reader, studied politics, loved football and was a loyal Notre Dame Fan. His favorite things were helping others, traveling with friends, telling long stories and reminiscing about the days of old.
He leaves behind two stepdaughters, Joy Jones and Donna Jones, two grand-daughters Breanna and Sunny, and two great grand-children Braydon and Olivia. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce Nelson, two half-brothers, Wayne and Mickey Mashburn, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cecil’s funeral service will be held January 23, 2023, at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am with the service following at 10:00 am. He will be interred at Pensacola Memorial Gardens next to his mother.
