Cynthia A Bowden

Cynthia (Cindy) Ann Bowden, 73, of Pensacola, Florida passed away on June 13, 2024 after a challenging, but brief battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and especially by her feline companions.

Cindy was born in Norfolk, Virginia and was raised at several Navy locations while her father was in active duty. They settled in Greenbelt, Maryland in the Washington, DC suburbs in the 1960’s where Cindy graduated high school. She met Louis D. (Don) Bowden and they moved to Pensacola in 1973, before marrying in 1974. Cindy and Don had a great life together and enjoyed more than three decades of marriage. Cindy began working at the Warrington Bank in 1974 and became a fixture there for over forty years until her retirement in 2019. She made many lifelong friends with her bank colleagues. After retiring, Cindy volunteered at the Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida caring for injured and orphaned wildlife.

Cindy is preceded in death by her husband, Don, and by her parents, Thomas and Christene Gilleland.

In lieu of flowers, Cindy requested donations be made to the Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida.
