

He was born on October 4, 1932, in Little Rock, Arkansas to William Chester Johnson and Goldie Sylvia Perkins. As he liked to say “I’m not that old, I was just born a long time ago”.
Dale graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served our country in the U.S. Army for 2 years. He then spent 35 years working as a Mechanical Development Engineer at Monsanto, where he was known for his innovative designs of complex yarn and carpet machines. He received multiple U.S. Patents and designed some of the most complex automated machines of his time.
Dale was passionate about his many hobbies including motorcycles, cars, sailing and flying RC planes. He built RC planes with meticulous craftsmanship and was known for his homemade inventions. He will always be remembered for his “5G” priorities of life: God, Generosity, Get Moving, Good Day, Goosebumps.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Chester Johnson and Goldie Sylvia Perkins and his wife Peggy Simmons Johnson.
Dale is survived by his love, Linda Carden, his children Jill Johnson Raney, Phyllis Johnson, Mike Johnson (Anne), and Julie Johnson Robins; his grandchildren Sarah Johnson and Stephen Johnson.
A funeral service followed with an internment will be held on May 23rd at 11:00am at Bayview Memorial Park, located at 3351 Scenic Highway, Pensacola, Florida. Visitation will begin at 10:00am.

The family wishes to thank his caregivers, especially Phyllis Johnson and Matt Norwood, who made it possible for him to stay in his home. They would also like to thank VITAS Hospice, especially Wesley Caldwell.
He will be remembered with love by all those who knew him.
