David Paul Phillips, of Pensacola, passed away at home on February 2, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. David was born and raised in Pensacola, to parents Wesley Phillips and Mary Joseph. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Charlotte Phillips; children, Molly Lisa Monroe (Frederick O'Neal Monroe Sr.) and David Paul Phillips Jr.; grandchildren, Kayle Marie Bright (Tremaine Bright), Frederick O’Neal Monroe Jr. (Kelsey Ratzin) and Ava Brooklyn Phillips; and 2 great-grandchildren, Zayden and Zakiah. David is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley Phillips and Mary Joseph.
David graduated from the Florida School for the Deaf in 1964 and met the love of his life, Charlotte in 1970. David thereafter began his family and started a career in upholstery, specializing in automotive upholstery. He retired after 38 years from Walters Auto Top & Glass. David was also a lifelong Alabama Football fan and was devote in his Christian faith, attending First Baptist Church of Pensacola for over 50 years. David was a member of the Pensacola Association of the Deaf for many years.
A visitation for David will be held on Friday, Feb. 7 at 11:00 AM at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, Pensacola, FL, with a funeral ceremony to begin at 12:30 PM. He will be laid to rest immediately following at Bayview Memorial Park.
