Don Ameche CarrollDon Ameche Carroll, age 71, passed away on January 23, 2014 in Pensacola. Mr. Carroll was born in Birmingham, AL and was a resident of Pensacola since 1988, coming from Cuba. Mr. Carroll was a retired Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy. He was a member of the American Legion, AM Vets, and was an avid Alabama fan, enjoyed watching Nascar, traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Estelle (Smallwood) Carroll, and a very special son in law, Eric Specht. Mr Carroll is survived by his Wife of 19 years, Cricket Carroll of Pensacola, one son, Bo (Lisa) Boyington of Pensacola, FL, three daughters; Denice (John) Frazier of Mississippi, Cissy Hanks of Ohio and Heather Specht of Pensacola, FL, step-son, Jimmy (Samantha) Boyington, 14 Grandchildren, and Two Great- Grandsons, special cousins Steve and Felecia Drew, best friends Annette and David Shadburn of Albany, GA, and special friend, Mary Lou Ellis. Visitation will be held Thursday January 30, 2014 from 5-7 pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 New Warrington Road. Services will be held Friday January 31, 2014 beginning at 11:30 at Oak Lawn Funeral home with the interment to follow at Barrancas National Cemetery at 12:30 pm.
