December 17, 1940 – July 5, 2025
Donald Rickey Green, 84, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Don lived a life marked by hard work, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family.
Born on December 17, 1940, Don proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and Reserves. He later built a successful career as a public insurance adjuster and general contractor, earning respect for his integrity and dedication to helping others.
Don was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, where he found community and spiritual strength. He found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life: casting a line on a peaceful fishing trip, enjoying the breeze out on his boat, or spending time with loved ones at his favorite getaway—St. George Island.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Emily Green; son, David Green and his wife Tracy; daughter-in-law, Yong Green and their cherished families. He was a proud grandfather to Michelle Baxley (Kory), Shannon Green, and Ashley Rawls (Jake), and a loving great-grandfather to Vera Baxley, Charles Bear Baxley, and Baker Rawls.
Don is preceded in death by his son, Michael Green, and step-son Jessie Mancuso, whom he missed dearly.
His legacy of love, perseverance, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. “He’s talking to Jesus.”
A service to honor Don's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 14, 2025, in Pleitz Chapel, First Baptist Church of Pensacola. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
