“Dynamite” was born on March 26, 1957 in Port Saint Joe, Florida. She was number five of Joe and Yvonne Paffe’s ten children. The family moved to Pensacola in 1959 and Dyna started first grade at Sacred Heart Cathedral School in 1963. She attended Sacred Heart until 1971, and Catholic High School from 1971 to 1975. In high school, Dyna excelled in track and basketball, and there she met her high school sweetheart, Charles 'Chuck' Boland. After graduation, Dyna went to the University of Florida for a semester and then returned home to attend Pensacola Junior College and the University of West Florida. Instead of finishing her bachelor’s degree at UWF, she chose to dedicate her life to working and being a mother following her marriage in 1979 to Chuck and the birth of her oldest child, Kimberly, in 1980. Dyna worked in the office at PJC from the late seventies until 1996, and at Sacred Heart School from 1996 until 2020. Through the nineties and two-thousands, “Dynamo” assumed many different rolls, from Pumpkin Run director, to Cub Scout leader, to basketball coach. She loved God, her family, and the beach. She found comfort in gardening, organizing, and cleaning. Dyna had an unshakeable zest for life; She was spontaneous and loved adventures. She enjoyed cooking and the “chemistry” of baking. Some of her favorite food and beverages were porcupine meatballs, chicken tetrazzini, shrimp creole, orange and yellow Mike-and-Ike’s, pralines and cream (Blue Bell) ice cream, lane cake, key lime pie, bushwhackers, margaritas, and her infamous “blue drink”. She loved music by Phil Collins, Alabama, Martina McBride, the Moody Blues, and ABBA to name just a few. Dyna loved her country and was endlessly proud of her son Christopher’s service in the marines. She loved helping others and was a shining example of Sacred Heart School’s mission statement. Finally, her love language was “getting on” to people and bossing: you could bet that the more she “got on” to you, the more she loved you. She will be remembered by her loyal friendship, contagious laughter, and incessant use of page protectors.
She is survived by her husband (Chuck), children (Kimberly, Christopher and Kaitlyn), grandchildren (Barrett, Emery, Charlie, Finley, Jaxson and Baby Terrell), and 350+ schoolchildren.
A visitation for Dyna will be held Friday, January 14, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 1212 East Moreno Street, Pensacola, FL 32503, followed by a mass of christian burial from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.BayviewFisher-PouChapel.com for the BOLAND family.
