

On April 13, 2017 Earnest (Dare) Campbell of Santa Rosa Beach, FL died in the certain hope of the Resurrection at age 95. He was born in Whiteville, LA on March 24, 1922 to Ernest Joseph and Virginia Dare (Ida) Campbell. He married the love of life, Janie Sibley Campbell, in Bunkie, LA on March 10, 1951. They had 2 children, Charles Dare and Kay Virginia, and were married for 61 years before she passed away. He loved to tell people he lived through the Great Depression and WWII into the age of technology that put a man on the moon. He was proud to have served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He graduated from Louisiana State University in Chemical Engineering. He retired from Dow Chemical in Baton Rouge, LA. He will be remembered as a kind and gentle man of faith and integrity. Dare is survived by his daughter Kay Royston and her husband Rick Royston; daughter-in-law Debbie Campbell; granddaughter Kathleen Royston and her husband Steven Doss; brother Nelson Campbell and his wife Georgia Campbell; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Destin, FL on April 19 at 5 pm preceded by a visitation at 4 pm. A military graveside service will be held at Bayview Memorial Park in Pensacola, FL at 11 am on April 20. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church. Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel is entrusted with the arrangements.
