Edwin Ann King

Gibbons. She had one sister, Francis, and three brothers, Richard, Ray, and Samuel. Ann moved with her family to Pensacola, Florida in 1941. She graduated from Pensacola High School in 1957. She then worked in bookkeeping and customer service and C+P and Sun Bank in Pensacola.

Ann was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and, later, Warrington Baptist Church, Hillcrest Baptist church, and Bratt First Baptist Church. She was baptized at Pleasant Grove and Warrington Baptist church. Ann was very active in church. She sang in both the children and teen choirs as a young woman. She taught Sunday School, Women’s Missionary Union, and training union, and also lead Girls in Action and Royal Ambassadors.

Ann Gibbons and Richard King were married in Warrington Baptist Church on May 9, 1964. They had many happy years together. In June of 1968, Ann gave birth to her only child, Michael King. She loved him very much and was an excellent mother. Michael passed away in February of 2021 from a heart attack. In 2018, Richard and Ann moved to Colorado to be near their son and grandchildren. Ann passed away January 23, 2022 at home. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Richard, four wonderful grandchildren, Kimberly (Keaton), Michael, Grace, and Kelly, and wonderful daughter-in-law, Susie.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 7, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel 3351 Scenic Highway 90e, Pensacola, FL 32503. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
